History and Background
The GlenAllachie Distillery was founded in 1967 in the Speyside region of Scotland. In 2017, legendary whisky producer Billy Walker acquired the distillery, and since then, GlenAllachie has regained its luster, producing exceptional single malts. Based on the belief of "pursuing 'perfection' as a work of art rather than 'consistency'," the single malts produced by continuously refining their quality have earned high praise and trust from whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
Production Method
GlenAllachie 15 Year Old is matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Oloroso sherry casks, virgin oak casks, and red wine casks. This diverse combination of casks creates complex and deep flavors. The high proportion of sherry cask-aged whisky, in particular, aims for rich sweetness and a long, warm finish.
Tasting Notes
Nose
It features rich aromas of dark cherry, golden syrup, toffee, sugared figs, and hazelnut.
Palate
Heather honey, orange peel, cocoa, ginger, and caramel brown sugar fill the mouth, offering a complex and deep taste.
Finish
A long, warm finish lingers, providing a highly satisfying conclusion.
Recommended Way to Drink
GlenAllachie 15 Year Old is best enjoyed neat. Adding a small amount of water further enhances the aroma and flavor. It can also be enjoyed on the rocks. It is also ideal for whisky cocktails, leveraging its sweetness derived from sherry casks.
