"Bokujo no Yume Milk Shochu" is produced by Yamatoichi Shuzōmoto in Kumamoto Prefecture. This unique shochu is crafted using a method found nowhere else in Japan: fresh, squeezed milk and the distillery's natural hot spring water are used as brewing water.
White koji brewing creates a fruity aroma and mellow taste
By adding milk to rice and rice koji and fermenting with white koji, this shochu achieves a mellow richness derived from the milk, along with a fruity and gentle aroma. Its surprising drinkability, unlike typical shochu, makes it a great conversation starter.
Recommended ways to drink
Enjoy the mellow taste derived from the milk by drinking it on the rocks or with water. Mixing it with hot milk is also a popular choice.
