"Muramasa" is a barley shochu crafted by Ikinokura Shuzo, located on Iki Island in Nagasaki Prefecture, renowned as the birthplace of barley shochu. This particular bottle bears the name of "Muramasa-kai," a group with limited retailers nationwide. It is carefully brewed using natural water sourced from 130 meters underground in the basalt layer in the central part of Iki Island, combined with barley (2/3 of the ingredients) and rice koji (1/3) made from Japanese rice.

Like the legendary sword Muramasa from which it takes its name, this shochu is characterized by a sharp, clear, and crisp taste. With an elegant aroma and a harmonious balance of savory umami derived from barley and rice, it pairs exceptionally well with food.
