酒販店の紹介によると、亀齢酒造は明治元年（1868年）創業。長寿の象徴「鶴は千年、亀は万年」にあやかって「亀齢」と名付けられ、軟水を生かした甘口が主流の西条で、あえて辛口の酒にこだわってきた蔵です。低精白の酒は味がまとまりにくいとされますが、この「92」は米の旨味を感じながらもバランスのとれた仕上がりと酒販店は紹介しています（酒販店公表値：八反錦・精米歩合92％・アルコール分17.5度・日本酒度+4.5・酸度2.2）。酸度が高めで後口は引き締まった印象です。
