Kyuyo Aged in Storage 25% 1800ml Bottle | Sweet potato shochu Tanegashima Shuzo, Kagoshima Prefecture
“Kuyō,” crafted by a Tanegashima distillery founded in 1903
“Kuyō” sweet potato shochu is made by Tanegashima Shuzō in Nish之表 City, Tanegashima, Kagoshima Prefecture. The distillery uses locally grown sweet potatoes and continues to focus on aging its shochu in storage.
A blend of 3- to 5-year-aged spirits
This shochu is made by aging white-koji spirit for around three to five years, then blending it with that year’s new shochu. Groundwater from Tanegashima is used to dilute it.
A mellow flavor aged at the distillery
It features the rounded character of aging and the rich, full-bodied flavor of sweet potatoes. This is a bottle that showcases the distillery’s skill in a way that new shochu cannot.
Recommended ways to enjoy
Enjoy it slowly on the rocks or mixed with hot water to savor its aged aroma and flavor. It is also smooth and easy to drink with water.
