Le Rosé de Château Puygueraud Bordeaux 2011 750ml | Thienpont Family Estates Dry Rosé Wine
Cellar-aged Rosé Wine from a Renowned Château featured in "Drops of God"
"Le Rosé de Château Puygueraud Bordeaux 2011," crafted by the Thienpont family, producers of numerous acclaimed Bordeaux wines, is a rare and highly-regarded rosé. While the red wine from this château gained fame after appearing in the popular manga "Drops of God," this rosé, made by the same producers, is a special cellar-aged back vintage that had been quietly resting in the château's cellars until recently.
Key Points (Production Method and Background)
This wine is made by the Thienpont family, who also produce a number of renowned wines such as "Château Le Pin" and "Château L'Arcy Ducasse." Although they purchased the château in 1946 in the most beautiful part of Côtes de Francs, the vineyards at the time were desolate. George Thienpont, the head of the family, believed in the potential of the land and successfully revitalized the barren land over a long period of 30 years through diversified farming and livestock breeding. Grape cultivation resumed in the late 1970s, and the first vintage released in 1983 was immediately praised by critics, quickly making it a popular château in the market.
Flavor and Aroma Characteristics, and Buyer's Evaluation
Made primarily from Merlot, its characteristic is a mellow flavor and aroma. This is a medium-bodied, dry rosé wine that offers aromas of red fruits, reminiscent of raspberry and cherry, and a rich fruitiness that spreads across the palate.
Bordeaux's "aged rosé" is a truly rare gem, seldom seen in the market. We recommend serving it well-chilled, much like a light-bodied red wine. Our buyer recently sampled it at home and reconfirmed it as a highly recommended bottle, stating, "The flavors have deepened through aging, and it truly is a wonderful wine."
Recommended Ways to Enjoy (Pairing)
With its solid fruitiness and depth gained from aging, it pairs excellently not only with lighter dishes but also with meat dishes and rich, flavorful cuisine. It complements lean meat dishes like "beef tataki" and "roast beef," and also enhances the flavors of both the wine and the food when paired with richly flavored "Chinese cuisine."
The Prowess of the Château, Highlighted in "Drops of God"
The red wine from this château was featured in the popular manga "Drops of God" (Volume 7), where it was praised as "overflowing with nostalgia like sepia-toned memories." This rare rosé wine is the result of the passion and skill poured into it by a château so popular that its vintages consistently sell out.
