Shichikubo Valley's Spring Water Refines This Shochu for Meals
"Shichikubo" is a sweet potato shochu created by Higashi Brewery, established in 1915, with the primary focus on pairing well with food. It is made from Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes sourced from Southern Satsuma, fermented with white koji and distilled under reduced pressure. The resulting raw spirit is then aged for three years using natural spring water from "Shichikubo Oryotani" which emerges from the Shirasu Plateau after many years.
Taste Profile
It offers a mellow and rich flavor with a crisp finish and depth. It is cherished as a shochu that complements meals, never tiring the palate as it subtly accompanies dishes.
Recommended Way to Drink
Enjoy the rich aged flavor by drinking it with hot water (oyu-wari) or cold water (mizu-wari). It pairs well with a variety of dishes when enjoyed with a meal.
