ピエモンテ州アルバの北に広がるロエロ地区で造られる白ワイン「ロエロ・アルネイス」。バローロやバルバレスコで知られるランゲ地区とは対照的に、太古の海の化石を含む砂質土壌が広がるロエロならではの個性を持つDOCGワインです。
知る人ぞ知る存在から銘醸白へ
かつては赤ワイン用のネッビオーロを鳥から守るための「おとり品種」として植えられていたアルネイス。砂質土壌がもたらす軽やかさと、洋梨やアプリコット、柑橘、アーモンドを思わせる華やかな香りが評価され、今ではピエモンテを代表する白ワインのひとつとしてDOCGに認定されています。ステンレスタンクでの醸造が主体で、フレッシュで繊細なミネラル感のある味わいに仕上がっています。
おすすめの楽しみ方
魚介料理全般との相性がよく、特にアクアパッツァやカルパッチョなど素材の味を活かした料理、食前酒としてもおすすめです。
