Hungarian Tokaj wine is said to have been enjoyed by historical figures such as Louis XIV and Beethoven. This particular wine is primarily made from the Furmint grape, the main variety used in "Tokaji Aszú," one of the world's three great noble rot wines. Only carefully selected late-harvested grapes (some noble rot affected) that have ripened on the vine until November are used. By aging the wine in a combination of Hungarian oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, the elegant characteristics of the varietal are maximized.
