Key Features (Production Method and Background)

Suntory Yamazaki 18 Year Old:
Selected malt whiskies, primarily aged for over 18 years in Sherry and Mizunara casks, are vatted together. It is one of Suntory's signature single malts, characterized by its profound depth achieved through long maturation and a complex, powerful body.

The Macallan Harmony Collection Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea:
This is the fifth installment in a limited series themed around harmony with nature. It draws inspiration from the rare Oolong tea "Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea" (Fenghuang Dancong Milanhxiang), cultivated in the Fenghuang Mountains of Guangdong Province, China. By combining American oak casks seasoned with Sherry and European oak casks, it masterfully expresses the sweet world of tea in whisky form.

Flavor and Aroma Characteristics

Yamazaki 18 Year Old:
In addition to sweet aromas of raisins and apricots, it offers deep notes reminiscent of chocolate and coffee. On the palate, a sweet and sour fruitiness and honey-like smoothness spread, leading to a very elegant finish with the long-lasting mature aroma from Mizunara casks.

The Macallan Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea:
It features vibrant aromas of fresh peaches, apricots, and floral honey. On the palate, a rich sweetness and warm citrus flavors unfold, leading to a delicate, floral finish reminiscent of tea leaves.

Recommended Ways to Enjoy (Pairings, etc.)

For both whiskies, it is recommended to enjoy them neat first, slowly savoring the evolving aromas. Yamazaki 18 Year Old pairs excellently with bitter chocolate and dried fruits. The Macallan Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea, when paired with fine Chinese tea or light desserts, further enhances its exotic fruitiness.

Awards and Recognition

Yamazaki 18 Year Old:
